1. Definitions

• "Academy" / "we" / "us" — Akal Academy, located at E-2-6, Plaza Seksyen 7, Jalan Plumbum, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia
• "User" / "you" — any person who accesses this website or enrols in an Akal Academy course
• "Service" — the online AI development courses offered by Akal Academy, including all associated materials, exercises, and tutor support
• "Content" — all course materials, exercises, feedback, and other information provided through the Service
• "Agreement" — these Terms & Conditions together with any applicable enrolment confirmation

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website or enrolling in a course, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use our website or services.

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. By enrolling, you confirm that these conditions are met.

3. Service Description

Akal Academy provides online AI development courses delivered in English. Current courses are:

• Foundations of AI and Data (6 weeks, RM 140)
• Machine Learning Essentials (10 weeks, RM 590)
• Deep Learning and Language Models (12 weeks, RM 420)

Courses are delivered online. Access is provided upon confirmed enrolment and receipt of the applicable course fee. Course availability is subject to cohort scheduling and minimum enrolment numbers.

4. User Accounts and Enrolment

Enrolment is completed through direct communication with Akal Academy. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide during enrolment is accurate. Access to course materials is personal and non-transferable.

You must not share your login credentials or access details with any other person. We reserve the right to suspend access if we have reason to believe these terms have been breached.

5. User Responsibilities

• Complete exercises and submitted work using your own effort
• Communicate with tutors respectfully and in good faith
• Not reproduce or distribute course materials without written permission from Akal Academy
• Not use course content for any commercial purpose without explicit authorisation
• Not attempt to disrupt the operation of the website or course delivery systems

6. Intellectual Property

All course content, including lesson materials, exercises, and feedback templates, is the intellectual property of Akal Academy. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to access and use the content for your individual learning during the period of your enrolment.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from course content without our prior written consent.

7. Payment and Refunds

Course fees are payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) upon enrolment confirmation. Fees are inclusive of all materials and tutor support for the course duration as described.

Refund conditions:

• Full refund: requested in writing within 7 days of enrolment confirmation, provided course access has not yet been activated
• Partial refund (50%): requested in writing within 14 days of course start, where less than two weeks of content has been accessed
• No refund: after 14 days from course start, or where a learner has accessed more than two weeks of content

8. Course-Specific Terms

• Tutor feedback is provided on submitted exercises only; it does not cover off-curriculum questions or work unrelated to the course
• Completion of a course does not constitute a formal qualification or certification
• The capstone project in the Deep Learning course is evaluated by a mentor; assessment is formative and provided for learning purposes only
• Akal Academy reserves the right to update course content during delivery to maintain accuracy

9. Disclaimers

Our courses are provided for educational purposes. We do not make any representation that completion of a course will result in employment, a specific level of skill, or any particular career outcome. Learning results depend on the individual learner's effort, background, and application of the material.

Course content is provided "as is" and while we make every effort to keep it accurate and current, we do not warrant that it is free from error or entirely comprehensive in relation to the field of AI development.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Akal Academy's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the course fee you paid for the relevant course.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including loss of earnings, loss of business opportunity, or reputational damage.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these terms, without refund of fees where the breach has occurred after the refund period. You may discontinue your enrolment at any time, subject to the refund conditions above.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, specifically the courts of Selangor.

13. General Provisions

• This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Akal Academy in relation to your use of the Service
• If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect
• Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in future
• Notices may be sent by email to the address provided during enrolment

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance. If a change materially affects enrolled learners, we will notify you by email.
